Coop Ratio Lab
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Coop Ratio Lab stores compost batches, component names and quantities, journal measurements and notes, plot names, areas, crops and planned dates, custom material coefficients, language and reminder settings on your device. An automatically generated random installation token is stored in the device Keychain. When synchronization is available, the app sends batches, journal entries and plots to our service, which stores them with a one-way hash of that token and timestamps in a Railway-hosted PostgreSQL database. The service and Railway infrastructure receive request metadata such as IP address and technical logs. We do not require a name, account, email address or password to use the app.
How we use information
We process entered records to calculate compost balance, show diagnoses, retain the journal, plan application, and synchronize and restore data for the same installation while its token remains available. We use the installation token to restrict server records to that installation. Local notification settings are used to schedule compost turning and temperature reminders on the device.
Service providers and sharing
Railway hosts the application service and PostgreSQL database and may process network and infrastructure logs. We do not add analytics, advertising, email delivery, mapping or social sign-in providers. Data is not intentionally shared with other app users. The public privacy page does not require a token or cookies.
Data retention
Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app. Server records remain until you use Delete All Data in Settings. That action deletes the installation's server batches, journal and plots and clears the device records; the server keeps a hash of the revoked token to prevent its reuse. Railway controls its own infrastructure log and backup retention; we cannot state a specific duration or guarantee immediate removal from provider backups. If the installation token is lost, server records cannot be recovered through an account.
Deleting your information
Use Settings > Delete All Data to request deletion of the installation's server records, then clear local records and rotate the installation token. If the server cannot confirm deletion, the app keeps local records and reports the failure so you can retry. Removing the app clears app-managed local records but does not itself issue a server deletion request. For a privacy request, contact fringloom@gmail.com; include only information you choose to share. We cannot identify an installation's private records without its token.
Permissions and your choices
The app requests local notification permission only if you choose to enable reminders. You can deny or withdraw it in iPhone Settings; compost calculation, records and planning remain available. The app does not request location, camera, contacts or microphone access.
Your privacy rights
You can inspect, edit, export journal text, and delete information within the app. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights. Because there is no account, we may need information you voluntarily provide to understand a request, and cannot retrieve private installation records after its token is lost.
Security
The app stores records in its application storage and the installation secret in Keychain. API requests use HTTPS and present the token; the server stores a one-way token hash and authorizes each private record against it. Railway hosts the service and database. No system can promise absolute security; keep your device access protected.
Children’s privacy
The app is intended for chicken keepers and small farm or garden operators, not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek children's personal information. Contact fringloom@gmail.com if you believe a child has supplied information that needs review.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Material changes will be reflected in the app or policy before the changed processing applies. Questions can be sent to fringloom@gmail.com.
